Many businesses consider counterfeiting and piracy as a subject that is not for open discussion.

Brand Owners fear that if the public gets to know that their products are susceptible to piracy they may choose another brand or even seek out the cheaper counterfeit product to save money.

 

The scope of the problem is now so wide that unless brand owners take action they will find their businesses directly affected by falls in profits and the possible threat of litigation from consumers who may be harmed by ineffective or even defective product.
