Who can help? : Universities
![]() |
Each Member State of the EU will have a number of Universities that specialise in developing and researching new technology. Since technology is often a key component of effective anti-counterfeiting systems it follows that Universities are often a source of new ideas and information that can be utilised to fight this type of crime.
Sources for new solutions can be found in the following specialities:
- Chemistry (Dyes, pigments, responsive compounds, engineered molecules)
- Biological Engineering (DNA tracers and taggants, biological markers)
- Electronic Engineering and Computing (Micro Chips, Printed Electronics, MIS)
- Nanotechnology (Coatings and markers)
- Optical Engineering (Holograms, Films, Diffractive Gratings)
- Physics (Magnetics, special surface structures)
New technology being developed and introduced will appear on our new technology page.
